McKinley Marketing Partners’ law firm client in DC is seeking an Internal Communications Manager for a long-term contract (12 month+) contract. The Internal Communications Manager will work closely with the Communications Team and the Office of the CEO and work to ensure all communication aligns with the firm’s vision, culture, and strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Finalize and implement people engagement and internal communications strategies and messages which align with their vision, culture, and strategy
  • Ensure that all internal communication reflects the brand and tone of voice
  • Manage internal engagement and pulse surveys (working with the People function), analyze and act on results and develop appropriate communications
  • Analyze the success of communications programs and take action to tweak or reinvent them to improve engagement
  • Build relationships across the firm, providing insightful feedback to the management and communications team on communication issues, opportunities, and ways to improve engagement on strategic priorities
  • Work with the other members of the internal communications team in specifying, monitoring, measuring, and adjusting the effectiveness of their internal communications, and taking action as necessary
  • Act as a role model and positive contributor to the work of the other members of the global internal communications team
  • Develop appropriate budgets for internal communications support at a global level

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable areas of study
  • 6+ years of experience managing internal communications and people engagement in a complex international environment
  • Understanding and practical experience of the use of social media to support employee engagement programs
  • Practical and experienced understanding at a senior level of the issues, strategies, and tactics involved in effective people engagement and internal communications
  • Content development and editing skills that are adaptable to a variety of print and electronic applications
  • Hands-on ability to deliver a wide range of internal communications and engagement activities
  • Ability to communicate in a way that supports business priorities and builds internal engagement
  • Must be highly energetic and collegial, with an ability to foster positive relationships with colleagues at all levels and in all region
  • Must be creative and flexible, able to generate ideas and to facilitate the generation of ideas from others
