McKinley’s Arlington, VA Research Services client is looking for a Senior Research Sales professional to join their energetic team of outside-the-trapezoid thinkers and problem-solvers. The Senior Research Sale professional will have an arsenal of market research sales expertise and a deep curiosity to learn the intricacies of the client’s business. The Senior Research Sales professional also will have proven experience in leveraging their market research expertise in a sales capacity.

This role can work remotely from anywhere in the U.S

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate the details of research projects: value to the client, objectives. methodology, questionnaire structure, project timelines and budgets of each project
  • Point to objective measures of success in cold prospecting, closing sales and achieving revenue targets
  • Manage all aspects of the sales process including prospecting, qualifying, meeting, negotiating, and closing projects
  • Maintain knowledge of client’s products and services and trends in the market research and franchising industry
  • Cultivate and strengthen client relationships through developing an understanding of their business objectives and ensuring exceptional client service
  • Speak applied research fluently, advising clients on approaches that help them achieve their business goals
  • Deliver the client’s compelling capabilities presentations in-person, conferences or via phone
  • Develop a deep understanding of the client’s data, solutions and services including key differentiators and competing offerings
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level
  • Solid to strong understanding of the value of market research with emphasis on strategic planning and the role that insights play in achieving client objectives
  • Establish one’s credibility with decision makers
  • Possess new business development skills: prospecting, qualifying, presenting, needs assessment and the ability to close business

Requirements:

  • B.A., B.S. required. MBA or equivalent experience preferred
  • 5 years minimum market research sales experience required
  • Proven track-record of hitting $1mm+ annual sales goal
  • Experience selling technology products at senior levels
  • Consultative sales experience selling research to multi-national companies a big plus
  • Solid to strong understanding of the value of market research with emphasis on strategic planning and the role that insights play in achieving client objectives
  • Exceptional ability to immediately establish one’s credibility with decision makers;
  • Possess new business development skills: prospecting, qualifying, presenting, needs assessment and the ability to close business
  • Ability to learn substance of research quickly
  • Knowledge of the market research industry
