McKinley Marketing Partners’ nonprofit client located in DC is looking for a Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications. The Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications will be responsible for advancing the organization’s mission and developing the marketing, communications, and branding strategy. The Senior Manager will oversee the daily activities of the marketing team to include budgets, staff, consultants, and project management.

Responsibilities


• Establish, manage, and evaluate the Marketing and Communications Department’s annual goals, priorities, and budget
• Collaborate with management to ensure marketing, communications, and branding efforts are properly created, executed, budgeted, monitored, and evaluated
• Assess the organizational infrastructure and strategize accordingly
• Develop and execute strategies for furthering the organization’s mission
• Create compelling year-round, call-to-action campaigns that further the organization’s mission
• Build brand awareness, engage target audience, and grow the organization’s reach
• Work to increase funds and impact through existing campaigns and the creation of new initiatives
• Collaborate to create effective communications strategies to help reach department goals and increase the organization’s visibility
• Ensure consistent branding and voice in all outbound communications
• Oversee organization website and social media activity and be current, or lead, with online trends
• Plan and manage all direct, targeted, and promotional marketing efforts
• Conduct media outreach and serve as the primary media contact
• Create and edit e-communications, op-eds, news releases, and press materials

• Supervise and mentor Marketing/Communications staff of three plus one consultant and related vendors.

Qualifications


• Bachelor degree in Marketing, Communications or applicable areas of study

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in nonprofit marketing
• Proven strength in marketing research and data analysis
• Proven leadership ability with a track record of empowering teams
• Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies
• Relationship builder with the ability to unify vision
• Excellent writing/editing and verbal communications skills
• Working knowledge of WordPress, plugins, SEO, SERP and database systems
• Experience with budget management and goal development
• 10% travel required
