Looking for a great opportunity to support the packaging strategies of the world’s largest grocery retailer? Then we have an excellent opportunity for you as Packaging and Design Manager in Arlington, VA (client is willing to relocate the right candidate). Specifically, the Packaging and Design Manager will be responsible for guiding strategic packaging initiatives and leading product packaging implementation in line with the team’s brand strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of packaging from finalization of creative design through the artwork production, prepress, and file delivery process
  • Manage the creation of packaging guidelines, including technical guides and artwork standards
  • Establish and implement efficient packaging execution processes and workflows
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams including purchasing, label compliance, Quality Assurance, branding and engineering
  • Liaise with external vendors to ensure application of all required information to product packaging
  • Oversee packaging execution across multiple product categories and varying packaging structures
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to deliver accurate artwork within scope, on time and on budget
  • Analyze, synthesize and report data
  • Ability to independently make day-to-day decisions in accordance with overall strategy
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable areas
  • 3-5 years of packaging design project management experience; preferably in the CPG / FMCG or grocery retail environment
  • Experience in and strong fundamental knowledge of consumer product packaging requirements and application of information on packaging for the grocery retail environment
  • Excellent project management and time management skills
  • Strong organization skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and motivate direct reports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive within a fast paced environment
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
